VALCOUR FAQ?

Do I need an appointment?
CT Scan, MRI and Ultrasound all require a scheduled appointment.
We do take “Walk-Ins” for regular X-ray exams.

Do I need “Pre-Authorization” from my insurance for my exam?
This varies based on the type of exam ordered, you can contact us

What do I need to bring to my appointment?
Insurance cards
Physicians order (If you do not have the order, please call us @ 563-1900)
Minors need to have a legal guardian or parent accompany them to appt.

How soon will my doctor get the results?
Your exam will be read within an hour of completion. It is then dictated through a transcription service. Once dictated, the Radiologist will review the report for accuracy and sign off on it. Once signed off on, it will be faxed or mailed to the ordering physician. The report usually gets to your physician within 24-48 hrs. Your physician can also review your results online by accessing the CVPH medical records. Exams ordered by your physician as “STAT” would be called immediately once exam is interpreted.

Who will read my exam?
There is 1 of 11 Radiologists on site each day at Valcour Imaging to interpret studies. All of our Radiologists are Board Certified and are the same Radiologists that interpret studies at the CVPH Radiology Dept.

Who will be doing my exam?
All CT, MR, Ultrasound and X-Ray Technologists at Valcour are Registered Technologists in their modalities.

Will the technologist be able to tell me the results?
No. All exams must be interpreted by a trained physician. Valcour Imaging has 11 Board Certified Radiologists on staff, one of whom will read your exam and dictate a report for your physician. Our Registered Technologists are not trained or authorized to give results to patients.

If my Dr. requests copies of my images, how do I get them?
Valcour Imaging is a Digital Imaging Center. Your images and report are part of your CVPH medical record. Most physicians are satisfied with the radiology Report. Some physicians however want to see your actual images. We can make a CD or print films at the time of your exam. If your exam is older than 2 weeks, you will need to contact the CVPH file room @ 562-7502 to obtain a copy of your images on CD or film.

If I need medication to relax me for my MRI, do you give that
@ Valcour?

No, Valcour does not prescribe medication. Your family physician would prescribe something, and you would need a driver to bring you to and
from your exam.

Where are you located?

Do you take my insurance?
